We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Calibration technician to join our team in our Arlington, TX facility!

The CMM Tech develops setups, and fixtures, and establishes methods for efficient CMM operation and inspection of piece part components as required and can evaluate against 3D CAD solid model files. The CMM Tech verifies feature dimensional and visual inspections related to prototype, first article parts, in-process and production assemblies, also performing final checks, validation, and testing using the CMM, manual metrology, non-contact optical and vision systems, engineering drawings, procedures, and work instructions. Assures all CMM inspection programs are filed for repeat and future use and performs periodic CMM Preventive Maintenance functions per a planned schedule.

Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Develop repeatable setups, operate and utilize the CMM by programming and saving inspection routines, and use pre-written programs as the CMM Inspection Team Leader in the department for automotive parts.
    • Understands and exercises GD&T concepts and applies feature dimensional language (GD&T) requirements as per the related engineering drawings.
    • Calibrates and periodically qualifies each CMM’s probes using established routines.
    • Perform inspection(s) of products to check for conformance to specifications and evaluate inspection results to determine compliance with drawing requirements.
    • Utilize other manual and hand-held measuring tools such as calipers, go-no/go gages micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, profilometers, and others like metrology.
    • Utilize ERP software to input and analyze measurement data
    • Collaborate with team members to communicate inspection results, address quality concerns, and implement corrective actions, as needed
    • Follow PPAP process guidelines for new product launches or special projects
    • Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned

Requirements/Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience
    • CMM
    • GD&T
    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
  • Read & Interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Trained in Common Mechanical Inspection metrology & Equipment
  • Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Software *Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School/GED
