Summary:

Sets up and operates, with assistance, a variety of machines common to the trade by performing the following duties.

Duties:

  • Disassembles, assembles, inspects, cleans and polishes molds. Uses skill and care when polishing critical surfaces.
  • Disassembles and repairs Hot Runner and hydraulic actuated molds. Must be familiar with electrical and hydraulic circuits using diagrams, blueprints and electrical circuit test meters and methods.
  • Reassemble and rewire molds.
  • Executes light basic mold base machining. Roughs machine mold components.
  • Performs light mold repair work supervised by onsite toolmaker.
  • Maintain PM records
  • Maintains inventory of Tool Room PM components and supplies.
  • Observes all health and safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills:

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprint readings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to use precision measuring instruments and ability to use advanced shop math

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Computer experience required to maintain mold status. Must have the ability to get along with coworkers and work in a team environment. Detail oriented.

Minimum of 3 years experience being involved/hands on with Injection Molds.

Strong Mechanical knowledge. 2 Years Crane experience a must.

Machining capabilities is not required but is a plus (Manual Milling Machines and Manual Lathes)

Experience with Electrical and Hydraulics.

Tig Welding is a plus. Hours must be flexible, Overtime and call-ins maybe required.

Physical Demands:

The following are the physical demand for the Tool Room Department; must be able to lift at the minimum of at least 50lbs. off the ground; must be able to work on feet for majority of an 8 hour shift; must be able to wear safety glasses where required and walk and climb stairs.
