Supply Chain Launch Logistics Supervisor
Elmdon Plant

Main purpose of the job:

Supervises the daily activities of the supply chain launch team across the end-to-end supply chain elements of new product introduction. Facilitating demand planning, material planning and production planning in the execution of new product development and launch, working closely with engineering and program launch teams. Ensuring team maintains alignment to the latest engineering configuration for production and customer material requirements. Ensuring that inventory is phased in accordance with customer launch and ramp up requirements and minimizing the impact of excess inventory through effective material phasing and burn off existing programs where required and in line with corporate objectives for cost and delivery performance. Key areas of operations include forecasting, demand analysis, production planning and scheduling, inventory planning and control, supply scheduling and capacity management.

Sets priorities to ensure task completion, coordinating work activities with other supervisors, and receiving guidance and oversight from the senior supply chain manager in terms of policies and processes.

Main missions and results:

  • Plans, organizes, and conducts activities within its area in an effective manner towards achieving common objectives of IAC (name of plant) as well as the IAC Group.
  • Reports deviations from the standard and takes corrective actions.
  • Take action to ensure team achieves relevant operational KPIs.
  • Supervises team activities relating to conversion of demand plans, build plans into realistic and achievable material supply schedules and ensures is in alignment with launch build rates and ramp ups.
  • Works closely with Lead Material Flow and Packaging Coordinator and other functions to ensure effective, lean material set-up and flow utilizing PFEP tools and through cooperation with the engineering department in the development of the plant layout.
  • Ensures team utilizes and accurately maintains business ERP and other business systems inclusive, but not limited to:
    §Monitoring of launch customer orders in the ERP software
    §Weekly production plan escalation of issues, risks, opportunities, or non-conformance
    §Creation and implementation of shipment schedule and liaison with freight companies where required.
    §Ensuring proper and current settings in the ERP system
    §Agreeing with logistics representatives about the escalation of logistics problems with representatives of solution providers
    §Organization of internal production logistics.
  • Supervises team activities relating to customer shipments by ensuring team organizes product packaging in accordance with the instructions of the customer and organizes required product transports in conjunction with logistics team members
  • Supervises the provision of packaging by:
  • Promoting the use of reusable packaging working close with Lead Material Flow and Packaging Coordinator to ensure deliveries of finished product packaging with relevant customers.
  • Supports team in ensuring compliance to inventory optimization and inventory management policies and procedures.


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience working as a supervisor in a high volume, manufacturing, supply chain environment with specific evidence of New Product and New Program Introductions
  • University degree or professional body qualification in a supply chain or logistics management
  • Analytic thinking, detail oriented and hands-on approach
  • Good knowledge of problem-solving tools and techniques
  • Excellent communicator, both written and verbal at all levels in English
  • Good presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages (Excel, Work, Powerpoint etc)
  • Self-driven, with an enthusiastic approach and “positive attitude”
