Senior Maintenance Manager
Main purpose of the job
Responsible for the maintenance, repair or replacement of plant, equipment, buildings, grounds and systems, to ensure maximum production, quantity and quality, while supporting the company goals and objectives.
Main missions and results
• Responsible for completion and planning of capital projects with assistance from the Management Team.
• Manage plant moves and installation projects.
• Leadership, coaching and training of the Maintenance department, ensuring required results are achieved.
• Comply with best practice IAC HSE policies and procedures ensuring the Plant complies with current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision.
• To work proactively with managers to establish and maintain safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues particularly with respect to Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
• Determines critical spare parts inventories.
• Implement and maintain Pirana Maintenance system, to ensure up to date knowledge of spares, maintenance history, and order tracking.
• Provide out of hours support for major breakdowns as required.
• Lead and manage TPM implementation.
• Control spend within budget targets.
• Support continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
• Support problem solving and fault-finding activities to reduce downtime.
• Project management, supervision and co-ordination of contractors; checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
• Coordinate periodic service and calibration actions on equipment.
• Ensure compliance to IATF16949, ISO 14001 Environmental / 18001 HSE Standards.
Preferred skills and experience:
• Strong leadership skills to lead and manage a team of Maintenance Engineers.
• Qualified, experienced multi-skilled Engineer, preferably certified to HND / degree level.
• Ideally NEBOSH qualified.
• Ideally have previous experience with working with Chemicals (isocyanides etc).
• Proven experience of working as a Maintenance Manager, preferably within a high volume, automotive manufacturing environment.
• Solid electro-mechanical maintenance knowledge with experience in dealing with complex manufacturing equipment (Injection moulding, welding and automated assembly) including robot and PLC programming.
• PC literate, have excellent organisational skills and a strong sense of urgency and an ability to work under pressure.
• Confident decision maker and proactive problem solver, with a hands-on approach.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to report both verbally and in writing in a timely manner.
