Senior Demand Planner
Role Responsibilities
•Is the subject matter expert on policies and processes relating to forecasting and demand management working with the relevant supply chain team members to ensure best in class processes are adopted to ensure completion of near-term and long-term demand forecasts.
•Ensures the team follows policies and processes relating to business planning receiving guidance and oversight from the manager.
•Supports the manager in developing continuous improvement opportunities within the team and works to automate and simplify the overall forecasting processes and models utilised by the team.
•Act as the primary liaison between teams responsible for the Production Scheduling, capacity planning, procurement, transportation, and operations aspects in relation to achieving daily activities facilitating and leading small project teams to drive continuous improvement and best in class approaches acting as the subject matter expert for the operations and supply chain teams.
Main Missions and Results:
•Plans, organizes, and conducts activities within its area in an effective manner towards achieving common objectives of IAC (name of plant) as well as the IAC Group.
•Review and support the forecasting and demand planning processes to ensure that from customer inputs the Demand Planners monitor, analyse, and generate accurate short, mid, and long-term forecasts to enable appropriate stock levels to meet the customer’s demand.
•Oversee and regularly review the team’s activities ensuring daily customer orders are processed into the ERP software, reflecting the production volumes agreed with the customer and internal stakeholders.
•Support internal and external customer collaboration programs and small cross functional or planning related business improvement initiatives, providing coaching and training to enable improved service, and forecast outputs from the team.
•Participate in required daily audits for accurately maintaining ERP/MRP system data to ensure correct planning parameters are aligned to group standards and ensure team enacts updates as required.
•Ensure the team reviews the accuracy of EDI transmissions and ensure the extracting of consistent and accurate data, which will subsequently be used to drive business decisions.
•Review forecasts to promote performance improvements and cost efficiencies.
•Set key performance indicators and review and reporting deviations from the standard and taking corrective actions to achieve KPI’s.
•Put in place solutions and processes for the daily monitoring and alignment of demand variability of customer orders (over-the-top increases, decreases) and preparation of data by the Demand Planners for input to Production Planners for daily, weekly, and monthly capacity planning reviews.
•Work with Material planning team to develop best in class approaches to ensure alignment of customer demand to material schedules.
•Ensure the effective enactment of customer complaint returns through the verification of the legitimacy of return with the QS department, posting in ERP software, issuing a correcting invoice.
•Oversee the daily compliance to deliveries (dates, quantities), backorder mitigation, reduction of backlog in supplies (backlog) and elimination of special transportation costs and exceptions.
•Provides support to the team, coaching and development of the Demand Planner(s) and highlight and facilitate continuous improvements to all demand planning related processes.
•Facilitate and lead small functional and cross functional improvement projects.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
•University degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields
•Extensive experience in supply chain planning, forecasting, demand, and production planning
•Advanced Excel skills
•Strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done
•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with managers, peers, and team members both written and verbal at all levels in English
•Exceptional problem solving & analytical skills with strong attention to detail and a good working knowledge of structured problem-solving tools and techniques
•Ability to thrive and seek solutions in a highly complex, ambiguous environment, self-driven with an enthusiastic approach and positive attitude
• Sound understanding of Quality, Business and OEM systems and standards
•Effective coaching and mentoring skills
•Is commercially astute and understands the principles of working capital management
