Supervisor Production Scheduler

Main Purpose of the Job:

•Supervises the daily activities of production schedulers (3 – 5 direct reports) to create and to coordinate the creation of 6–12-week Master Production Plans leading to the efficient and effective daily operations of the assigned facility.

•Responsible for setting the priorities of the team to ensure task completion, co-ordinating work activities with other supervisors in accordance with policies and procedures, seeking guidance and oversight from manager where required.

•Tasks include co-ordinating the creation the manufacturing plans to achieve the company objectives relative to customer service, resource, capacity utilization and low inventory investment ensuring that production capacity and material resources are available to meet the plan highlighting any shortages and capacity constraints.

Main Missions and Results:

•Plans, organizes and conducts activities within its area in an effective manner towards achieving common objectives within the IAC Group.

•Identify strengths and weaknesses within the specific area and work to improve through process improvements, training and guidance,

•Reports deviations from the standard and takes appropriate measures and corrective actions.

•Take action to achieve the departmental objectives set out in the plans, develops, implements and reviews appropriate indicators (KPIs)

•Understand customer requirements / expectations in detail and then communicates to the internal team in order that the requirement if fully understood.

•Establish a strong working relationship with internal / external customers and service providers.

•Ensure that the plant Master Schedulers meet their service and inventory goals and are aligned with the customer delivery expectations.

•Ensuring the Master Schedulers develop and maintain master schedules, rough cut capacity plans and feed this into stakeholder reviews highlighting any capacity constrained work centers, developing strong relationships with production and operations, inventory control, demand planning, supply schedulers and logistics to review outputs and put cross functional mitigation plans in place.

•Working with operations to increase customer service, reduce working capital impacts and improve productivity.

•Ensure the Master Schedulers are working on the following aspects of the business:

•Managing Planned Manufacturing orders within the ERP/MRP system, enacting any production order changes through bottom-up re-planning ensuring aligned to customer demand

•Working with Demand team to determine proper mix of products to be produced, material planning Support for new product introductions and the achievement of product phase out plans to minimize excess and obsolete liability

•Working with the Operations and Manufacturing Engineers to thoroughly understand and advise on managing short term/long term capacities to minimize the cause for past due orders and /or overtime.

•Working with the Operations to help balance and coordinate the manufacturing orders based on material/capacity availability.

•Working with the Supply Chain Manager to determine the impact master scheduling has on the plant's financials and performance targets.

•Providing leadership to the team, driving standardization, supply chain BASIaCs and performance reporting.

•Undertake regular analysis and audit of all MRP data parameters relating to finished goods item master data, work centre shift patterns, working calendars, BoMs and Routings. Undertake regular audits to ensure master data integrity is always maintained .

•Undertake quarterly work in progress audits to ensure WIP is located correctly. Report any deviances and ensure any adjustments are actioned in agreement with financial controller. Ensure corrective actions are taken.

•Support the implementation of lean initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

•Undertake team reviews, coaching and development and 1-2-1’s

Preferred Skills and Experience:

•extensive experience in a similar role, ideally from an automotive manufacturing environment

•Bachelor’s degree and full membership of a relevant body such as APICs, MCIPS or IoSCM

•Able to understand, apply, and support business goals and objectives

•Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills

•Demonstrated experience with lean manufacturing or six sigma methodology to drive continuous improvement

•Ability to effectively communicate globally to all levels of the organization

•Well-organized and able to multi-task with a high level of attention to detail

•Excellent working knowledge of ERP and MRP planning systems and tools

•High level of understanding of production planning processes and procedures
