Determines and drives the most appropriate design and engineering solution.
Controls the engineering design activity assuring most appropriate application of both direct and contract design resources towards IAC internal & customer requirements, quality, time, feasibility and cost-effective product design outcome.
Build to Print projects: support customer in design feasibility studies
Lead feasibility studies of given design (from customer, engineering houses, etc.) regarding tooling, manufacturing process stability, fit and finish, craftsmanship and assembly.
Assure that given design meets IAC tooling, production and assembly processes
Measurement technology expert and support for measurement technology issues from ongoing operations and projects.
Responsible for creating and updating Bill of Materials (BoM) and PLM-system in projects
Design according customer styling, technical requirements, and specifications.
Design for assembly & manufacture.
Quality functional deployment including testing & validation
Dimensional variation analysis
Support other engineering departments, including trials and sign offs
Process feasibility studies
Assure that design meets all relevant guidelines
Bachelor and/or diploma degree in plastics, automotive engineering, mechanical engineering
5 years related experience
Project experience including process and launch support
Working knowledge of GD&T, DFM, DFA, CAE/FEA, CAD, FMEA, DVP&R
