Summary:

Performs a variety of duties to supply components, packaging and molded parts to the assembly lines under the direction of the department manager and/or shift supervisor.

Duties:

  1. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
  2. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or by powered industrial truck.
  3. Loads materials into vehicles by powered industrial truck and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  4. Reviews daily material requirements.
  5. Weighs product accurately for shipment using digital scale. Prepares for inventory by maintaining area in readiness for recorders to inspect (weigh parts and count items monthly).
  6. Manually stretch wraps cartons on production floor to prepare for shipment or warehouse return.
  7. Conveys materials from work sites to staging area for warehouse pick-up by powered industrial truck
  8. Observes all health and safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED, 3 months of experience required with knowledge of raw materials.

Skills:

Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Requires the ability to use simple arithmetic, simple formulas, charts, and schedules. Ability to maintain and understand records. Ability to get along with coworkers and work in a team environment.

Must be able to be certified to operate a powered industrial truck.
