Process Technician

Role Responsibilities
Ensures that machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods run to their maximum efficiency and output, complete tool/nest changes to support production runs. This includes notifying maintenance department of breakdowns of mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment & and were practicable assisting in the repair.

Role Requirements
• Maintain, improve and repair equipment (where applicable) in accordance with departmental expectations to set levels effectively in compliance with best practices ensuring production efficiency can meet customer requirements within a safe environment.
• Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported in a timely manner.
• Identify, communicate and document any difficulties relating to the product, process and/or quality system.
• Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales.
• Work with equipment suppliers to accurately collect application and performance data on new technology tested in the process.
• Work and liaise with a range of internal departments and external suppliers, utilising good effective communication across all functions.
• Ensure a safe working environment exists for self and colleagues, ensuring all IAC health, safety environmental and quality policies and procedures are followed at all times this includes LOTO and hazardous waste.
• Flexibility will be required as it will be necessary to work as part of a shift rotation. Inclusive of being on shift 15minutes prior to production start up, to ensure equipment is ready to run.
• To monitor the daily production and to include the monitoring and upkeep of key pieces of equipment.
• Start Up & Shut Down checks and subsequent process checks are completed on shift-by-shift basis.
• Responsible for accurate completion of first off and last off quality documentation in line with current customer expectations and guidelines.
• Ensure the technician‘s handover log is completed during shift and previous shift logs are read, understood and actioned where applicable.
• Ensure that contractors are managed in accordance with company procedures.
• Daily duites will include liaising with production staff, quality personnel to understand historical or ongoing issues; maintenance personnel to act upon any relevant issues.
• Take responsibility for TPM activities as issued and monitored by maintenance supervision.
• Where applicable monitor parameters and report any potential adjustments via the master protocol.


Qualifications and Experience
• Good educational background.
• Understanding of Planning and prioritising activities.
• Ability to present data effectively.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of Health and Safety practices.
• Excellent team working skills.
• Good understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/ cost of poor quality.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
• Commercial understanding of the impact of failure/downtime on production and ultimately customer delivery.
• Understanding of IATF16949 quality standards.
