General Description:

International Automotive Components is a commercially driven environment, with a particular emphasis on supplier strategy and nomination, supplier development, effective negotiation and stakeholder engagement. You will be working within the chosen function group, for sourcing requirements across all customer programmes or indirect requirements, delivery of best cost solutions and supplier performance to deliver pre-series and series supply of components. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager responsible.

Position Specifics:

  • Co-ordination for supplier nomination and long-term strategies within a chosen function group. Life-cycle responsibility and autonomy for delivering high quality, value for money components to IAC, utilising robust and objective nomination and sourcing processes that represent best-in-class practices.
  • Accountability for cost and budget management for spend portfolios. Executing sourcing strategy. Responsible for supplier reduction in IAC for your function group. Supplier sourcing and nomination approval in line with programme or business requirements.
  • Monitor contractual agreements with suppliers. Deliver annual cost down targets through commercial and VA/VE methods. Develop strong long-term relationships with suppliers to deliver value to both IAC and the supplier. Work cross-functionally with all departments to drive quality principles and commercial acumen into every aspect of our business.
  • Develop detailed and intelligent category strategies that align with the organisation’s commercial and technology roadmaps as well as those of our key development partners.
  • Supplier performance from a cost, quality and delivery perspective to ensure delivery into IAC. Effective resolution of all critical supply issues and status reporting to the project team.
  • Execution of management reporting

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Degree / MCIPS preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to promote best practice purchasing techniques.
  • Proven commercial success / strong negotiator.
  • Previous manufacturing / automotive experience in (Direct, Indirect or Tooling) preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in cost engineering, raw material, tooling buying Indirect spend and product portfolio would be advantageous.
  • Ability to lead negotiations and support teams in the development of negotiations strategies for large and complex projects.
  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable commercial success within an Automotive and / or manufacturing environment is desired, but willing to consider all industries with the right competencies gained.
  • Excellent organisational skills, deadline adherence and exceptional attention to accuracy and detail.
