Role Summary

IAC Mendon is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer, for our Mendon, MI facility. The role will include responsibilities for supporting the Quality Management System (QMS) and improving key performance indicators (KPIs) for the company.

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Monitors and participates in the improvement of quality systems that pertain to pertinent areas of expertise and job responsibility.
  • Develops and presents QA presentation materials.
  • Supports and assists Quality Manager.
  • Conducts quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
  • Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards.
  • Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Monitors, reports, and maintains product launch process as required to support customer and internal requirements for product realization.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all customer program requirements and quality assurance processes.
  • Prepares and updates procedures, standard work instructions, visual aids, and control plan documentation.
  • Evaluates quality issues using problem solving tools (5 Why, 8D, Fishbone, etc.).
  • Liaise between customers, division reps in the customer plants, division quality team members, engineering team members and production team members.
  • Supports IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Participates in plant-wide continuous improvement projects.

Key Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in engineering, or relevant work experience required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an automotive setting.
  • Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement experience, a plus.
  • Prior experience with ISO/IATF 16949 processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic measurement tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
