Building Infrastructure Engineer – 12-month FTC (Plant Engineer)

Main purpose of the job:
The Buildings & Infrastructure Engineer will support the Manufacturing Management Team with the specification and delivery of buildings and facilities projects.
Main missions and results:
- Design, specify and manage to completion Mechanical, Electrical and Building Services
- Projects using specialized contractors.
- Manage Health & Safety at work. Act as the client for CDM related projects. Manage
- Principal Contractor and Principal Designer appointments. Review Designers Risk Assessments.
- Work with the facility and equipment teams to provide Building Services expertise on multi discipline projects in support of the construction and modification of manufacturing facilities.
- Undertake desktop studies and site investigations for prospective projects, utilising in-house or external specialists where appropriate to enable the evaluation of alternative economic solutions and support project justification.
- Manage Contractors in strict accordance with the IAC Control of Contractors procedures.
- Attend programme meetings at all levels, representing the Building Infrastructure team and present where appropriate.
- Ensure all projects have appropriate timing plans and report status through regular progress reviews.
- Support the Layout Team with the development of lean efficient solutions.
- Manage physical installation builds at all UK sites, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
- Design, specify and manage to completion extraction, ventilation, fire protection and sprinkler system installations and other requirements defined by the business insurers.
- Include “Life Cycle Thinking” considerations and Sustainability Assessment in all designs and specifications.
- Support Industrial Footprint Planning and other strategic projects within the business.

- Programme / Cost Management.
- AutoCAD.
