General Description:

  • This position is responsible for all operational and strategic activities within the given Commodity and sub-commodities while ensuring compliance with overall IAC- and Purchasing objectives, strategies, and procedures. Is responsible for the management of all suppliers within the Commodity and sub-commodities group.

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Negotiates volume discounts, favorable terms, and long-term contracts with suppliers.
  • Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for the procurement of goods, supplies and services for customer related business processes or for internal use.
  • Oversees quotes, evaluate vendor's capability, quality, reliability, and price competitiveness, negotiate with/award contracts within specified spending limits, and develop new qualified sources of supply.
  • Fully responsible for all commercial and timing objectives of IAC within a nominated Commodity group.
  • Provide best service to the business through sound knowledge of the Commodity combined with strong understanding of local and global market conditions
  • Responsible for sourcing's all parts in the commodity group within the agreed quality, timing and cost targets, in accordance with IAC’s rules & procedures.
  • Management of suppliers within the nominated Commodity and sub-commodities, RFQ’s, contract negotiations, payment term agreements, framework contracts, supply chain agreements, support installation of quality agreements and other contractual agreements.
  • Establish and follow purchasing commodity strategies in line with overall company strategies.
  • Actively execute supply base reduction strategies.
  • Perform routine benchmarking.
  • On time processing of sourcing requirements using established corporate procedure.
  • Ensure the accuracy of prices in systems; maintain updates in systems.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of commodities responsible for and/or ability to quickly immerse in new commodities.
  • May lead a group of buyers in strategy and tactical procurement activities
  • Travel 25%

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement best practices, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPIM, CPSM) is a plus.

Education:

  • BS/BA required
  • MBA/MS preferred

Experience:

  • Requires 8-12 years of experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Procurement related systems (AS400, QAD, Power BI)
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Advanced Knowledge of Standard Costing Techniques.
  • Specification and Problem definition, data collection, fact determination, drawing valid conclusions, and formulating clear recommendations.
  • Quick interpretation and formulation of argument, counter opinion, and factual statement for negotiation conclusion
